Was that from a game? Link?

I can't see what happens if black takes your queen.

And you made that move exf6 knowing that you were leaving your queen hanging?

Why won't you post the game?

AquaTart

Because I don’t know the game. It’s just a random puzzle

cchenpro

I once played rf7 which was brilliant and i somehow won even though i was down a rook for 2 bishops and 1 pawn. Guess he didn't know how to checkmate with 2 bishops

Brilliantly done

This is I think a Capablanca game

AquaTart

Maybe....it’s one of my chess puzzles from the homework.

my analysis doesn't say that

try what is after Qxc2

Oh, wow, this is a fun one.  The hanging white queen doesn't matter because of the tactical implications, as noted above.

If 1. ..Qxc2 2. fxg7 (threatening gxh8=Q#)  Rg8 3. Nd4 (hitting the queen with the lethal Re1 to follow, regardless of where the queen moves).

The f6 capture leaves the black queen loose, so it's forcing in and of itself.  With the black king caught in the center on a suddenly open file, it's devastating.

What if black does Qd3, Re1, and black blocks with Ne5, Re5? can't the King escape to d7?

I played a nice attacking game today: cchenpro vs. TheOffice | Analysis - Chess.com
