Endgames, the most calming and not stressful part of the game

In IM Silman's nice endgame book...

"Chapter nine: Endgames for pure pleasure"... ah yes, nothing more pleasurable than pure calculation and stress... I haven't been in time pressure otb my entire life until this point!

We ended up being the last board to finish. All of the chess players from both the premier and reserve sections were crowded around our board, and since our table was next to a wall, the crowd seemed bigger than usual.

But the 1 point does not care how well you played, thankfully, and now I can go out and brag about my 67% winrate against the modern benoni against strong opposition (2200, 2177, 1981)

Bimzark returns! also I think the annotations are cut off at the end

Well that’s weird (and extremely annoying, since that means I’d have to annotate it again)

im not on computer rn so I’ll look at it later

DasBurner

why does everyone you play use this Benoni thing against the Catalan

I swear I've seen at least 5 of your recent otb games have this

and if I could ask, how much time did you spend on 28. nb1?

I'm a 1.e4 player and I tried to work out an alternative 1.d4 repertoire based on the Catalan, and the whole "Benoni thing" is very problematic for white.

Benonis are just fun to play. Probably one of my favorite structures in chess, for both sides. I don’t usually feel like it’s a problem for me, though.

Good Game !

Now you know what to aim for - strive for an endgame with two bishops against opponent's none, preferably with his king exposed. - even sac. the exchange for it. - hard for opponent is 'name of game'.
