Yeah, right..... eating pawn when he should just mate you, serves him right, lol
how to draw
How is it that you have 1800+ turn based and 1300+ live?
Well, friend, it is eazy...I would say my true rating is the rating of the average players i play:) It is about 1700. I have a few pending losses, so my rating at this stage is a little inflated. I have won the computer hard, medium and easy at blitz/standard, so it is not that i cannot win high rated players, I just cannot do it so consistand, because i am very adventurous player. It is only recently that i adopted an opening that i made my own, before that I just played on instinct, but i did narrow my margins of free play, also the value of pieces vs position are a little intresting to me. At blitz, i dont worry to loose as much as when i play turnbase. Turnbase one can make things work, and move pieces about, on blitz/standard one cannot.
something else that i'm thinking, is that when you go unto the profile of a blitz player, you would find that they dont do turn base....this is weird to me, i think they have more than one profile...Also the blitz players fall within the same catagory, between 1280 and 1420...I believe that the really strong players are above 1500 at blitz. I also think that such players don't wish to advertise that they had lost to weaker players. They keep their turn based games out of it...a simple explination would be that blitz players don't do turn base, but then that is what they would think, and why its weird...the other thing is that when you get a rating of 1600 at blitz, then you will be afraid to challenge, because you could loose 30 points to someone who got lucky. You would have to win another 20 opponents, who ain't lucky, just so that you can get back to the rating that you had. That is why blitz ratings are lower, also, you get those that make it their job to rob others from going high at blitz...I certainly enjoy, occasionally winning 1500+ at blitz/standard, but have resigned when opponent is loosing or running out o time:) With blitz, you can enjoy the skills you had gained. This is how i see it, or at least the impression i get:) Life is unfair, i cannot think that chess should be fair, yet we expect people to loose, then complain for high rating. We all end up learning something, weather you cheat or learn from cheater, you are better off at the end. All cheaters will find their match, at the end. Cheater will face cheater. The game would be a learning experience. The alternative would be too win against a blundergame...it would be fair, or not? Ratings should not worry us that much. The GMs should do that, their games are judged, ours are not. play.learn.share.

this was a good game, i did blunder, but saved some face at the end:)
