Hi everyone
Lets assume that Gukesh or one of the already qualified candidates players finishes top 3 (top 3 get into the candidates). I know it's been said that the NEXT best 3 finisher get into the candidates but they only have matches for the finals and the final 4 losers. There aren't other matches to pick the top 3. They aren't gonna get the final 8 to play new matches, how are they gonna solve it? Gukesh & the other candidates players don't need to be in this.
I think wiki has the best info page. Their bracket has links on each player if u click their name.

I guess Alireza isn't trying to get into the candidates. So far Fabi, Bluebaum, and Giri are in. Naka will qualify from rating. Pragg will qualify from the fide circuit. That's 5. The remaining 3 will be the top 3 of THIS one event. That's why this is so important, it's the last chance to qualify for the candidates.

Magnus is semi-retired since 2021. He's not interested in the title. He's not interested in serious chess. All he wants to play is chess960, rapid, blitz and other nonsense.

No. So far it's Caruana, Bluebaum, Giri, Nakamura (he's a lock but not yet official), & Praggnanandha (same with Pragg, he's gonna be the fifth player). So that leaves just this event to qualify the remaining 3 players.
