The title on your thread should've read, "Anger is ruining my life"

The good thing here is that you've acknowledged it(point 5), and need help in your concluding paragraphs.

It's best if you address them person-to-person (s); counselors, 24 hour helplines, family, a close friend.

Good one! HeHe

Actually, in this case, it was the easy access to casinos. It was the casino that ruled his life, changed his mindset, became the venue for his anger. The casino is where he spent so much tme plotting, thinking, angry. If he never, or rarely, went to the casinos this conversation wouldn't be happening. The reality is we cannot blame one thing or series of events for this. Some want to blame ordnance, some want to blame society, some want to blame mental health, some want to blame casino security, some want to blame ease of public gatherings, etc, etc. Satan himself I'm sure is very happy to agree with all those options.

There is no such thing as Satan.

God exists, Satan does not.

Tell yourself each time you are about to make a move:"I AM A GENIUS..I AM A GENIUS..I AM A GENIUS!!!! this will give you time to think .and geniuses are allowed to explode in anger. Think of Steve Jobs and good luck

WELL, AIZEN89, NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT PEOPLE TALKING THAT THEIR IS NO SATAN..... HE IS A HINDU..... FOR HIM, GOD WOULD BE BHAGWAAN AND SATAN WOULD BE BHOOT-PRET..... AND IN INDIA, I HAVE HEARD THAT FOR THEM, MOTHER IS LIKE GOD... HOW WOULD HE KNOW WHAT HAPPENS OUTSIDE HIS COUNTRY? HOW WOULD HE KNOW THAT ALL MOTHERS ARE NOT LIKE GOD.... wink.png

JUST KIDDING..... WE ARE CHRISTIANS... HE IS HINDU.... THE MEANING FOR YOU AND HIM IS SAME; BUT HE DISAGREES BECAUSE TERMS USED ARE DIFFERENT. JUST LIKE 2 PEOPLE CAN FIGHT OVER THE FACT THAT LIGHT IS PRESENCE OF BRIGHTNESS, OR ABSENCE OF DARKNESS.....

A lot of times when I get angry it's for losing 2-5 games in a row. I find that it's a good idea to take a break for awhile. Another thing I do is to try playing longer games - like for 15 minutes, which is the longest I play. Playing 3 - 10 minute games means lots of quick moves which also means - usually - a lot of errors leading to losses.

Controlling anger is vital part of becoming a successful chess player.

When I feel anger welling up inside me during a game, I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

I then throw that anger to the ground, and begin kicking it with my boots.

I kick it in its ribs. In its face. In its kidneys. Everywhere.

When that anger is a bloody pulp, I wrap my fingers around its throat, and squeeze as hard as I can. And I continue to squeeze, until I see the life fade from its eyes.

I then find out where that anger lives, and burn down its house.

I then track down everybody in angers family, and the same to them.

And the process continues, until there is nobody left alive, who even remembers that anger once existed.

That is how I retain my serenity.

What do you guys do?

When I start to get angry in chess or in life I just watch this short video and it totally mellows me out.
