Bad language and attitude, how do I block someone

I just played a person who cussed me out and had a terrible attitude. he was very cocky and sloppy in his moves and I capitalized on his errors. then he cusses me out and threatened to let me sit for 7 minutes while the clock ran out. How do I block someone like that in the future?

Go to their profile and near their profile, there is a block button and next time disable chat when you think that happens.

Thanks for your replies and I didn't know how to alert chess.com to this player. I played on my phone which doesn't have a feature to take a Screen Shot (at least I can't figure out how to do that on there) I won't be naming anyone again. And thanks for the help on going to their profile, I won't be playing them again...

Do they know if I block them

If they try to message you, they will find out, because it'll say "This user has blocked you" but otherwise they won't.

I’ve blocked over 50 people in 2022 alone!  Unfortunately, you can only block them on strands that you’ve started but once you’ve blocked them,  you’ll never receive a text from them nor will u face them in a game.
