Breaking even

So after playing few games in the year of 2012 and coming back after probably 0 chess for about 6 months I found myself averaging in the 1000s... And the reason for my return? That chess feeling... Yeah you may have felt it after 0 chess for several months after a seemingly endless unfun feeling when playing chess. Even now...after a few days of no chess matches (this doesn't include my nearly ceaseless mate in 2 puzzle solving (mostly puzzle attempting (they're hard puzzles!)) I get the feeling... The precipitation of this feeling is owed to my viewing of the 'searching for bobby Fischer film'.

After getting up to 1100 and at one point 1200... I found myself losing many games in a row... Dropping down below 1000... And I recall losing mostly to obscure opening moves and winning most games at the time against higher rated players. I also found a change in my play... Almost a war between styles... Both positional and tactical after attempting to improve my calculation by solving tactical puzzles. Though after the balance of both play styles... I find myself playing much better... And because of this I'm back to breaking even... Rating around 1200. I also find myself in very complex positions... Which I'm scared to play... The evaluation is unclear to me and though I think I'm better the computer usually always says I'm worst... And though the computer says I'm worse... I usually win when I think I'm better. It's like an odd force working in the game... Like it doesn't matter what the co,outer says... Whether I'm off by 2 points or 5... If I feel comfortable in the complicated position and I'm playing against someone around my rating... I usually win.... Still I dislike those positions because... "objectively" I'm worse. Anyone else notice something similar in their play?

I notice after a run of wins I play stupid! Over confident...My best games are when I play wipeout. You know, kill everything in site. The more aggresive the better. The problem is that it is very hard to find someone to point out errors in my play. What I mean is at a certain point I make a realy dumb move.So now that i've told you my weeknesses ??? Are you willing to help another player that is trying to return to being more competitive. Yell

I have beenlooking for chess study partners... The nature of such a relationship consists mostly of playing against eachother and reviewing our games

you can count me in.The idea is constructive and should improve a players skills.

Well I believe you can improve by improvising on your skill set.
