Does this mean I have to give you a tip bro? :)
be safe brother.
Chess has nothing to do with Poker.
Poker is a gambling game and a game of chance. Chess is skill-based and while money is involved it's never really the point (personally I think all prize money in chess is dumb).
Poker is a huge online business. They put this marketing idea that "poker is actually like chess" to chess players, they have articles about the supposed "progression" or "overlap" and it's all complete lies. There is no overlap between Poker and chess at all, It's all a money-making racquet.
Poker players and chess players are different classes of people entirely. Basically Poker to an analytical person is a joke. A chess player who also plays poker is the exception rather than the rule.
It's not about being elitist or anything, it's that poker is full of lies.
Skilled players make chess a game of skill. For the most part ( most players ), it's a game of chance.
All tips are appreciated. Just found out my IQ is less than 100. Let's all drink some green beer. Please be relevant, helpful & nice!
Actually, success at poker is based more on skill than chance. Otherwise professional poker players could not exist. Games that are totally (or even just mostly) based on chance will always lead to a net loss in the long run (you won't even break even since the house takes its cut from every round). For example, roulette is totally based on random chance -- ever hear of a professional roulette player?
Seems a lot of overlap in these two. Met a poker player the other day who'd been a 2000 otb player.
I just found the best kept secret in poker books...a little known book called Ninja Poker. It's on Amazon. Claims you can make $30-$40 an hour in your spare time as a part time job/hobby. Bought it. Been trying it for 2 months and yep, am making $38 an hour playing Texas Hold'em.
So just a heads up for any Hold'em players out there. It shows your 'holes' to you. Those things/habits you do that you don't KNOW you're doing, that are costing you money, and making you a losing player. It shows you right off, about tipping, and how you may be tipping 40%+ and not know it. Talks a good bit about bluffing and more importantly, WHEN to bluff.
Anyway, there you go. 5 star book.
