Peter, I found a lovely PGN file with "canonical chess games" somewhere. I think it was that "Exeter Chess Site". Goggle for it and you might get a handfull of nice games with high learning value. I will see if I can relocate it!
I still stand by 1001 Brilliniant Chess Sacrifices and Combinations by Fred Reinfeld (Dover Books) as best in your catagory.

I have several tactic files; but none like I'M trying to describe. Full games with specific tactic motiffs specified and indicated in the game.Been looking hard and long with no result.
Hi site players. I have a wonderful group of 15 that have formed the AMATEUR TEAM.i AM very proud of the hard work they are doing. I am looking for a file of games 300-500 in number that contain specific tactic motiffs. If each site player gave me 1; i would have plenty. As usual i will have the freely put on our great site for all o use. I am creating a short file on minor piece imbalances together with amateur game blunders!
