Dude, you're new, so let me explain.... that's not fighting, that's more akin to light petting here. Laughing

I talked to a high school kid who loved chess and credited chess for strengthening his ability to concentrate so he could finish a test, which he said he couldn't do prior to taking up the royal game.

here is plenty what?

I don't mind playing a game, unrated.

It's my opinion that chess is better for math than attitude. Chess does not teach the respect for individuals that human rights has been campaigning for, however it is only a game after all :)

Certainly; these all have an effect, on the way we approach mathematics; n fact, academically speaking, (the) studying math is a discipline n itself.

I agree. Because after 2 beers you play worse, but after 14 you begin to play better. After 23 you play really well but can't remember why. So you try to drink less so you can remember. Right?

How can math help your chess game, if u've been out of school 4 10 years?  Were u still using/applying your math skills to something while u were out of school?  Were u playing chess while u were out of school?  How can u say specifically that math has helped your chess?; this question is just based off your comment.

So I have been playing chess for last ten years, at the same skill level. Then, when I went back to school a few months ago, I noticed my chess rating going up. Therefore math has helped my chess game, unless it was that English composition class, doubtful.
