Wouldn't Monsieur Tout le Monde be Everybody (not Nobody)?
Forum's
Muted!
It is an honor
to be so recognized
and to my surprise
the thing I want most in life
is sadly not around.
Nicole Nobody sounds like the nom de plume.
self bio title ! wiki.
Born as Nicole Marie Charlotte Pierrette Jeanne Schneider,[2] she was the third and last wife of John Russell, 13th Duke of Bedford. They were married from 1960 until his death in 2002, age 92 ans.
Fascinating woman showing how if you come into the UK gentry and were french ordinary worker before wedding, you're are just NOTHING, even if you work 10hours a day.
It was a long time before Lady Di. who already was a "name " (as say Lloyds), before wedding, and particularly famous to have given a kiss to Zouve du Pont de l'Alma with Dodie.
Weird : if you work you're nothing, if you don't you're something , it is a "kuan", zen paradox !

Then I'm most definitely nothing. I'll only become something if and when I retire.
We drive on the right, but we're heavily armed and settle our traffic disputes in blood!
OK Corral modern release !

And on to the topic... blocking a members post. Being ignorant or having a disagreement with originator seems a popular way to get yourself muted. imo hijacking a forum with off topic spam is #1.
Muted is distinct from blocking: blocking is something user A does to user B, which prevents user B from posting in forum topics started by user A, sending user A messages, or posting user notes on user A's wall - I'm not sure about Friend Requests or Trophies, though. As you can see, nothing prevents user B from posting in a thread created by user C, even if user A is posting in that thread as well.
Muting is something the moderators do to a user when they determine that the person is not will not respond to cautions or advice from the moderators but their offence is not serious enough to merit closure of their account: it hides all of that person's content (user notes, messages, forum posts, everything) from everyone else on the site. It applies to not only any future content they create but all content they have creted in the past, which can make conversations in a forum topic look decidely odd.

Yes in "off topics" threads how is it possible to be "off topics" in the thread ? some open questions allow a wide gamme of digressions, some strange questions allow a wide range of allusions, etc .... it is an art to stay "off topics" on "off topics threads". Generally people are benevolent, OP welcome, and need a touch of funnies humoristics answers to keep the thread alive and not boring.
Some technical questions on "topics" threads seem strange, limit racist "all ways against the french opening" (lol it is
) " black are they condemned to draw" etc ... but it is just technics fortunately. one of my favourite is "spanish torture".
Some seem borderline "religion and chess" is not religious thread (forbidden) but influence of religions in history of chess game, subtile nuance.
Chess is an art, be a successful OP is an art too, beside to be muted, to have his thread closed may happen.
Forum are optional ,better to spend tie on the game itself to progress, surfing on threads is a sport too.
.
hijacking is something different : to monopolize posting.
What can be done is slightly different : to awake n old thread nobody answered, nd which coud have been of interest : a particuliarly interesting question, a splendid stupid one.
Generally when you re-open a sleeping beauty, she is angry and blocks you, after plenty of people come and make her alive. O tempora, O mores. just try to say "hello" to a thread inactive since years, and be patient: the OP will certainly thanks you.

no worries buddy... I will not nor ever block ignorant posts for fear of blocking myself.
Get with it mdinnerspace... you are stretching my limits of patience. Please be relevant/on topic or I just might enforce that all powerful B word.
