In 1975 I watched a tournament in Singapore. ~90% of the 300+ participants carried around "My 60 Memorable Games." His games were inspiring, his analysis impeccable. It was the closest thing players had to Stockfish.
Though I can no longer follow the variations in my head, I still read "60" regularly because of the life his descriptions breathed into those chess gems. A glimpse into the mind of a genius. A triumph over (real) Russian collusion that tried to stop him.
