When losing a game of chess, one is forced to accept the fact that he is less intelligent and has a lower self-worth than his opponent.  How do others deal with the fact that losing in chess (or any competition) is absolutely unacceptable?

OP. Don't listen to these losers.

Winning is everything and you should always fight to win at all costs. And when you lose, you have indeed moved one step closer to being a big fat  loser. Losing is unacceptable. And the only way to fight it is with anger. Don't deny yourself the anger. Live with it, eat, drink and breathe your anger

Chess is the only thing worthy of your attention, anger and energy. If you can't succeed at chess, why bother with anything else in life? Stop everything you are doing RIGHT NOW!! GO PLAY CHESS AND LET ALL THAT ANGER DRIVE YOU TO WIN WIN WIN!!!!

Not every1 plays under this advice.

Anatoly Karpov for example believed in playing for a draw with the black piece's and playing for a win with the white piece's. Cool

An I agree with him. Laughing

Maybe you were NOT winning in the first place. Perhaps it was an illusion.

If a doctor makes a mistake, the patient may die. If a pilot makes a mistake, hundreds of people may die. If a chessplayer makes a mistake, he could lose the game and sometimes not even that - David Navara.

I find meaning and purpose in losing. Every time I lose, I help to create a champion. Maybe I gave a future GM  a little encouragement. (Still, it sucks).

Tired of losing. Think it's time for to quit chess and find a new game.  I'm stupid but I have other talents :-).  I think the bright side is that I have other talents and skills and can laugh at people who waste their time with this stupid game.

quitting after losing 3 games in a row isn't exactly a great display of character tbh
