Chris, GWTR, where are you?

Please, post here, until all the mess is sorted out.

I need a bit of conversation going on.

So far, we have a single review on 'Human versus Machine' from a non-titled player:

https://www.expert-chess-strategies.com/human-versus-machine.html

Hopefully, we will have many more in the spring.

Even reviews are hard to get by during the winter time.

I mean, I am thinking all the time of playing some games here, as well as on other sites, BUT, how can one actually do that:

- while looking at the board, you also get messages of different kind

- there are some beeping sounds from time to time

- Chess.com notifies us of important events

- the players avatars are visible, and some of those are moving or very strange and unappealing

- if you try to fix something in the settings, other things get unfixed immediately, and so on and so forth

That, full concentration is almost impossible to attain.

And then, there are rumours that 1500 players here perform like 2000 and 2000 ones like 1500...

I mean, with all the good will, online play will never be the perfect testing environment.

Playing just for fun, yes, but otherwise.

Btw., I see Carlsen and Nakamura also played on Chess.com, with Carlsen underperforming in comparison to his OTB games with Nakamura, almost equal score, where Carlsen leads by 16-1 or something like that in OTB.

Or did Nakamura overperform.

I mean, that play has its specificities.

And then, how do people play 1 minute games with no increment, I mean, what kind of chess is that?

Hey, anyone around?

Any supporters, any friends, any defenders of the good cause?

Things will setlle down, it needs time.

GWTR, how is the second part doing? happy.png

Keep beating the computers, Lyudmil. Eventually, you will break their spirit and they'll give up. wink.png

Have you ever beaten it with less of an advantage?

Did not you read above post of mine?

You obviously did not click the link or read the whole thread here.

As, the link points to a book, where it is stated it contains non-handicap/full-set wins against SF and Komodo.

And I have posted many times different winning games with the full set on this forum.

Here one more, against an earlier version of Houdini:

(540) Houdini 3 Pro x64 - Tsvetkov,Lyudmil [C60]

Maybe someone can repost the game with a diagram, my browser has some problems now to post a diagram.

I can't get it to work now either.

You didn't play c4? I thought that was the winning move.

Unfortunately, I was black above.

You even did not care to check the header...

OK, here is the game.

Not everybody is able to beat Houdini.

A nice collection of similar games, well-commented and with a lot of diagrams and strategic plans explained, available here for only 1 dollar: https://www.amazon.com/Human-Versus-Machine-Stockfish-Komodo-ebook/dp/B0768G8R2C/ref=sr_1_5?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1520530432&sr=1-5&dpID=41WQ%252BB6063L&preST=_SY445_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

'The Secret of Chess' is just 5.

No, I most certainly did not read the whole thread. Congratulations, though, I wish I could beat a top engine.

Avatar of Lyudmil_Tsvetkov

Thanks.

It is not only wins.

I am losing many too.

Against SF 4, 5, 6, etc., it used to be relatively easy to win.

SF 9 though is a lot stronger.

Many weaknesses that were present before are already not there.

So, winning games against the top engines in the future will be an increasing challenge.

One should keep his strategies up to date, in order to be able to do so.

The biggest report so far on some of my works has appeared now, unfortunately in German:

https://glarean-magazin.ch/2018/04/14/anti-computerschach-human-vs-machine-report-carstens-tsvetkov/

This is the Glarean Magazin, a magazine for chess, art and literature.

The edition pays particular attention to computer chess developments.

In this way, 'Human versus Machine' already has its very nice editorial review, as you see, the author is mostly supportive of the high quality of the games.

Btw., in the very same article, a couple of other so-called anticomputer specialists are presented, so definitely a vert very interesting read.

Of course, you should learn German first, or use Google-translate.

Avatar of Destroyer942

Hey Tsvetkov, have you beat play magnus app on the hardest difficulty?

Avatar of Lyudmil_Tsvetkov

Never tried that.

Should be much easier than default SF, I suppose.

One way or another, the primary author is the same, Tord Romstad, right?

He published the initial version of Glaurung/SF for free, but he probably made a lot with the Magnus app., which is commercial.

Anyway, people using SF are innumerable.

It would be very nice of you to try this app and publish the game here with your comments and remarks, if you have some spare time of course happy.png

Thanks for the suggestion.

Really very low on time now, besides I am certain it plays much weaker.

200-300 elos, someone might be in the knowing?
