In case of draw games, the winner is determined by the shorter total of time they used along the game.
Well, it sounds too harsh.

A simple check to declare the winner.
Yes , it makes a lot of sense. Of course you do understand that this rule makes Najdorf practically unplayable.
Everybody will play 3.Bb5+ since after that check White player has to just draw to win the game.
The most funny is that he calls it "minor rule change".
Or my beloved King's Gambit.
Or the Bogo-Indian
I prefer standard chess but uses an opening random generator. Use.a sound 8 move opening book like those used in online engine tournament.
Chess is pretty perfect. If some of the players don’t get along with it that’s certainly not the problem of „chess“.
You can submit proposals ‘til the cows go home - it won’t change anything. Some minor adjustments, but certainly not basic rules.
thank you GM, a proper opinion, unlike some of the nonsense spouted by bitter old IM patzers, lol...

Agreed.
I think chess needs updates.

In other words, you suggest creating another chess variant. Dude, go ahead and do it. We chess players thank you for your concern and effort, but speaking for myself I prefer classic chess over any variant, sanctioned by FIDE or not.
Maybe you shouldn't waste your talent messing with chess variant and create new game altogether.
Ignore her, she is troll...
Classic Chess had to stay, but less on the clock would be welcome.
I agree with the Lion on this. 30 minutes for 1st 30 moves, 30 minutes for next 30 moves then 30 minutes for rest. No increment.
Somebody agree with Lion?!
Bong is right... we can disagree on details but surely a straight 2 or 3hrs, no increment, would make for better games?
Most GM blitz the opening anyway.
You now where you DON'T hear this nonsense? At OTB tournaments.
You know where you DON'T hear: "Chess needs to change" At OTB tournaments.
You know where you DON'T hear: "I'm an aggressive/tactical player" At OTB tournaments.
You know where you DON'T hear: "My opponent is trying to distract me by saying "good luck". At OTB tournaments.
You know where you DON'T hear: Telling someone "good game" is rude." At OTB tournaments.
All the nonsense you read about chess online is just that...nonsense. This stuff doesn't go on at OTB tournaments.
You know where you DON'T hear: "Chess is boring" At OTB tournaments.
Who do you hear it from?
Online bullet/blitz/rapid players.
Where do you hear it?
Online forums, from players that don't even play OTB. So take it for what it is. Online blathering.
Just because you cant pay attention, dont make the rest if us suffer your nonsense.
If we want flawless chess, it's better to watch Stockfish vs Alpha 0 and other over 3000+ engines. Players like myself and Lion want to see beautiful games, beautiful combination. Reducing time makes it possible.
With you Bong... 2 or 3hrs per player is surely enough for a classical game.
Some game would still be 4 to 6hrs anyway... and as they often blitz the opening... i don't think that's nonsense?
Of course Deardrie will disagree with most anything Lion say...
Bacon... i agree with you mostly, but the recent WC was not great yes?
