I was +8.6 as white , and I resigned .

Ok , So in this position I am white and my king is in check . The only 2 legal moves that I have are Qf2 (which obviously loses) and Kf1 .

But after I play Kf1 , there is Qh1# from white . Hence I resign the game .

And then comes the moment when I analyze the game with the engine and realize , that I had Qg1 to block the check . And it was infact me who was winning with +8.6 .

Lol. Do you  have the link to that game ?

I feel bad about this....by the way happy diwali mate!

Not here, it was played where I used to play on lichess, if  I remember correctly it was a similar concept...that is not seeing a defence and assuming I didn't have one...so I resigned

Only revealed after checking the computer analysis....like yours ?!

Mine was worse.

In one Chess.com tournament in which I had already completed and scored 6/6, I was waiting for the last boards to finish before being awarded the trophy. I watched the final game until the end, and closed the wrong tab (my tournament tab instead of that game tab) during the 5 seconds interval between the conclusion of the final game and the awarding of the trophy. At the time, there was no warning at all for closing a tab.

I left the tournament without any trophy at all.

I looked at the position and was like oh no Kf1 Rook... wait he can’t mate you with his rooks. Qh1 is also... wait. Qg1.

*scratches head, then reads your post*

Oh.

BaronVonChickenpants

The funny thing is, if you had played Kf1 instead of resigning when they played Qh1 and the game didn't end I bet you'd have easily found Qg1!

Never resign!

Yeah... sad story.

But my finger-slip in one recent game was even worse.

For a few minutes I was simply in the state of shock.

I repeat again and again... How could I do it? How? )

I immediately saw Qg1 and then calculated the rook battery check doesn’t after that so it should be safe. Seems like you don't pay attention to your resources. You need to work on that / active defense. Always have a back up plan for retreat. No matter how good your attack is going, you must always be prepared to retreat all your forces to defense.
