Chess has white go first but who gets to play white can be a totally fair decision with no bias.

Nowadays everything is racist.  Breathing is racist.  Snow is racist because it's white.

I agree with the original poster. The colors Red and Blue should be used instead of Black and White for pieces, as in wargames, while some other colors such as green and magenta should be used for squares. I propose a motion to the FIDE. All existing chessboards should be destroyed and replaced with politically correct ones. Of course, all web sites, including chess.com, will have to be forced by law to redesign their interface.

I understand that race was not a problem as today, when the black/white convention was introduced into chess many centuries ago. However, tradition cannot be an excuse for racism. During these hard times, when we see a resurgence in racism, we should not give the alt-right parties such a powerful tool to push their agenda. It is just a matter of time until chess will be used to brain-wash future generations of racists.
