Levy is awesome

Levy has over 5 million subscribers now, I'm guessing that's more than any chess person. BTW, here's his fide picture, it's the best one by far. Who else puts a picture like that on there? It's great.

Everyone who says they don't watch gothamchess lies

DreamscapeHorizons

That picture deserves a meme.

AgileElephants

I do, but only for the articles

Jenium

I just recently started keeping up with his journey of trying to get the GM title. He's gotten a coach & resumed tournament play. He's currently in his 3rd event back & I'm watching round 7 of his tournament in Spilimbergo, Italy. He did superb in the two events before this but isn't dominating in this one. That happens to everybody. I'd be willing to bet he's having to do too much with the extra work of streaming/editing/non chess related stuff. It'd probably be better if he could just focus on the tournament without the extra stuff pulling his attention away, maybe he can hire somebody to do the other stuff while he just plays chess. It's a fascinating series of videos to watch.

If you practice too much sometimes your learning too much and suck at it at first I don't think the streaming is hurting so much we should give him a few more tournaments before you decide that YouTube is hurting him

As a sub-1000 Glicko I love the video coaching from Gotham chess. I learn the American English also as I watch.

Levys coach, Arturs Neiksans, is commentating his games & he sounds just like the actor Christopher Walken but with a Latvian/English accent. He's the Latvian Christopher Walken. Look at some videos of both of them. It's very entertaining.

Levy just finished his last round. He ended up with 6 out of 9 vs an average rating of 2245. His 1st event back he scored 5.5/9 vs an average of 2451. The 2nd event he scored a whopping 8/9 vs an average of 2230. So overall in 27 games he's averaging 72% vs an average of 2309. I think Levy was 2323 when he returned and is now 2370 so he's doing fine. In his recap of the last round of this event he said he's played 5 GMs during these 3 tournaments and is 3 wins and 2 draws in those games. No norms yet but he's gained 47 points. It's fun to see these games live and follow the story.

Levy makes great content, fun and instructive too. I download his video every morning and watch it while eating breakfast or lunch 😂... I just want to share one thing. I think he should make more tutorial like videos. I know nowadays he's too busy. I wish he becomes GM levy soon... And then I'll love to watch endgame and middlegame videos by GM Levy Rozman 🗿.

Do you think parrot learning is the way to go to learn chess. I thought we need to discover our own ways for our own ego.

Anyways W levy for beating yet another GM, he's definitely one in the inside.
