Since The Secret of Chess has been locked, I recommend, Help! I'm locked in The Secret of Chess and I can't get out!

RoobieRoo

It was locked because of your boorish behaviour and proclivity for nothing more substantial than the usual unimaginative employment of various vacuous epithets.  'You're a moron' , 'You're a numbskull' and other glittering examples of your scintillating repartee.  How predictable and how banal.  Thanks for the offer but I will be washing my hair for the next thousand years.

blocked for disgust :-)

really..impressive

It is a cold winter here, and semi-outposts really are not the most importaht thing currently, but still, books offering good knowledge will always be necessary.

Currently, 'Human versus Machine' is priced at 1 dollar on Amazon, the 1st part, limited offer, so hurry to get an amazing chess collection for the price of a hot-dog.

https://www.amazon.com/Human-Versus-Machine-Stockfish-Komodo-ebook/dp/B0768G8R2C/ref=sr_1_5?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1519736472&sr=1-5&dpID=41WQ%252BB6063L&preST=_SY445_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Second and third part are at just 3, the Kindle editions, so you might get the whole collection for just 7!

Those people are really getting funny.

Broken promises, shame, disgust...

The VERY SAME person who locked this thread will be very sorry in a while.

It does not matter how and why, but this will happen.

There IS Providence above.

I mean, Deirdre suggests Anand played a tremendous game against Aronian, with no mistakes, I suggest the 2 mistakes commited on the part of Aronian, on moves 12 and 13, Ng5 and Nh7, do some analysis with SF, post some meaningful links to sites analysing the same game, and that is sufficient reason to lock the thread...happy.pnghappy.pnghappy.png

Now, if this has been for the first time, this is ok, but...

Even Carlsen blunders and makes mistakes in games, though they often go unpunished, let alone inaccuracies.

Now you're trying to tell us that you make not a single inaccuracy in your games against Stockfish.

It is foolish to make such a blatantly false claim. Lyudmil has not even given a clear indication of how many games are lost for each that is won. There is a huge difference between sometimes playing games without significant inaccuracies (I certainly do it. It can even happen at bullet (against humans), though rarely!) and never playing any inaccuracies. Hopefully this clarifies an important point.

MANY.

Many are lost, but I still manage to score quite decently against SF: over 50% with handicaps, and not very bad with the full set too.

It is all a matter of concentration.

Sometimes, with the full set of pieces, I am losing 5 or 6 straight.

At other times, I make 6 draws out of 6.

Most of the time, it is a mix.

So, am I really the level of SF, drawing all, or just a patzer?

The truth should be somewhere in between, for me, it all depends on concentration.

stewardjandstewardj

you are slowly (way too slowly) coming to your senses that beating StockFish is too unbelievable to believe. You have gone from outright calling SF weak to saying that you sometimes draw him to saying you lose and draw to him when you are tired to you can beat him with a handicap to this. The fact that you have changed your story well over 10 times in 4-7 different ways is proof that you are not telling the truth. I highly doubt you have gone from thinking SF is extremely weak to only being able to draw him, many times even with handicap

Lyudmil_Tsvetkov

It depends on my concentration.

When I am in good form, I score very well, sometimes rather poorly.

I wish more people could score like me against top engines.

Because he would have to play under the same conditions as everyone else, that's why. He would have to contend with bad internet connnections, loud noises, distractions, possible cheaters (although that shouldn't matter since he allegedly is able to beat to computers), etc. Some people have speculated that there one other reason, he would lose.

Bad Internet connections? Have we been transported back to the 90s?

It's because he knows he isn't good enough to prove he can beat, or even tie SF, and he knows that no one else in the world has came CLOSE to tying SF

Because I DON'T HAVE time.

I am writing a new very big book, too busy.

Competitive chess, even online one, requires a lot of energy and concentration and I am simply to busy now.

Precisely.

I hate all distractions, and here there are all kinds of moving avatars during games, beeping sounds, incoming invitations, streaming tv and who the hell knows what more?

I am a bit afraid to lose too, but ONLY in such circumstances.

Once you opened this thread again, read at least this article: https://www.expert-chess-strategies.com/learning-chess-for-advanced-chess-players.html

You're afraid to lose? Quite frankly you shouldn't bother playing chess at all then because everyone loses at some time or another.

hitthepin
He can’t play chess online, yet he probably spends more time on chess.com than everyone else here.
SmyslovFan

Considering Lyudmil is the greatest player since Ostap Bender, he probably knows he could play using "focus mode" and there would be ZERO distractions, at least from chess.com.

stewardjandstewardj

EVERYONE has to deal with all of this noise and beeing stuff you exaggerate about. Just DEAL WITH IT OR JUST MOVE ON with this "I'm the best chess player in the world" stuff
