Well, obviously there are different types of intelligence. There's a type of intelligence that is conducive to being a good chess player, which it seems the OP has to some extent.
Then there's the type of intelligence that helps you realise that chess ratings mean absolute f all in the real world and that criticising someone for a low rating makes you look like the worlds greatest douche burger. Obviously the OP is somewhat lacking in this regard.
Kasporov, you are a stupid douchebag. Who the fuck are you to call people mentally challenged or retards for being under 1300?
You are a 1100 player in correspondance chess dummy.
You realize that many many people here are under 1300? So all of them are a bunch of idiots?
In order to improve, you have to study, you have to work. Many people play chess just for fun. How about people that is 1500 and lose to some 1200 opponent? By your stupid logic, who is dumber? The 1200 for being below a 1300 or the 1500 for losing to someone below 1300?
How old are you? You sound like a little brat that thinks he is the big deal. I have much more respect for a 100 ELO player than I have for you. And I don't care how strong you are at chess.
Who are you again? Exactly, you are a nobody. So shut up and GTFO of here.
1. I never called anyone mentally handicapped for being a sub 1300 player. I was referencing a post by someone who claimed they knew a person playing chess for 20 years who is still a 900. I cannot imagine anyone playing chess for 20 years yet still a 900 , and normal.
2. I barely joined chess.com like 2 weeks, and I'm low rated in correspondence chess so I can play in a sub 1400 section in a tournament. I'm 1860 for blitz & bullet.
3. I know life gets in the way of things, which is why I said if you have practiced for more than 3 months yet still below a 1300 rated that is bad. A 1500 might lose to a 1200 but that is highly unlikely. You are using a stupid fallacy to make my logic wrong.
4. I dont claim to be a bigshot in chess, I am just curious what goes on the mind of a sub 1300 rated player why they cannot reach past 1300 rating after practicing for a long time. Obviously if your new to chess and it's your 2nd week playing, this thread does not apply to you.
and if your calling me a nobody then lol @ you. I have accomplished way more stuff in chess in my prime at a young age than you have your entire life. but then again, your a 1400 in live chess so your most likely under 1300 in real life OTB, so your probally frusterated.
1.- You are saying that your mind is blown away because you do not understand how any adult player that has been playing for more than 3 months can be below 1300. So you are calling "retards" people that have been playing for more than 3 months and they are still under 1300.
As for the 900 guy, what do you know about him? Maybe he is some guy that just plays for fun without thinking so much. Probably he has never read any book or studied anything.
You can't say that he is mentally handicapped because he is very bad at chess. I know plenty of people that are very very bad at chess and however they are very intelligent and succesful people in their lives.
2.- I usually do not criticize people because of their ELO, because then I would be the stupid douchebag that you are. But since you consider yourself such a good player and you bash others, I will make an exception and I will point you that regardless of how long you have been here, you have 3 wins and 4 loses at correspondance chess. Being your best win some 1164 guy and the average ELO of your opponents is 1282. (Even less than 1300!!!! How is that possible that you play and lose against such "weak" opponents???)
By the way, I have seen some of your games and I don't know if you like to play like a noob on purpose or what's the deal. But in some of your games you play like someone who discovered chess yesterday.
3.- A 1500 losing to a 1200 is not highly unlikely my friend. It is not very very common but it happens way more often than you think. I have seen games where a 1200 beats a 1900 guy! I have defeated opponents that had much more ELO than me, and I have lost to guys that are ranked much lower than I am.
4.- What goes inside their mind? There are plenty of possibilities, some of them probably think that they should practice even more, some of them get discouraged, some of them do not even think about it. And no buddy, I have been playing chess for much longer than just 2 weeks. And I know a lot of people that have been playing for years and they are lower than 1300. And they are very smart people, unlike you.
5.- At chess I am a nobody just like you are, but unlike you, I am not acting like a prick and I am not bashing anyone because they do not have a high ELO.
I do not give a flying rat's ass about what you have done in chess compared to what I have done. To me chess is just a hobby and it has always been like that, I don't care about tournaments and fortunately I have accomplished many important things in my professional and personal life, so you are delusional if you think that I am frustrated because my ELO is not very high.
You can be ranked higher than me or anyone else, but in this thread you have showed that you are just a stupid dick. And if you seriously think that you are more intelligent than someone only because you have a higher ELO, then you have some issues my friend.
