More is less - they say ...
My wife left because of chess

OP mates her wife in Bullet fashion I guess. Should be at least Rapid.
It really depends on how good a cook she was! Mine is a gourmet cook,so if I had to choose, chess would go first and without hesitation!-

Sounds like a man that should have spent more time practicing mating patterns.
Maybe his wife would have stuck around.
Bobby Fischer once said, "Chess is not a matter of life or death, it's more important than that", and also, "If chess was meant to be played in the sky, they would have put grass up there".
So I think you have your answer.
No wonder why Fischer is regarded the greatest!

I think this is something to go to a marriage counselor about, not the Chess.com forums.

--A chess set doesn't care if you play with somebody else's chess set.
--You can always adjourn a game of chess, and finish it off tomorrow.

There are more things in life than chess - especially since you're not on your way to becoming a professional chess player.
I don't know if this wife is right for you, but spending so much time on chess might mean you are in a rut and need to begin exploring other things - perhaps things your wife would also enjoy. Good luck.

I hear you brother. My wife asked me ..."would it kill you not to play so much chess?" Probably not....but why take that risk?

i gave up chess for my fiancee-she never became my wife- i feel cheated out of 3 years(not playing chess)
I'll wager the OP was silly enough to insist his wife learn the game. Right there she had good reason. Complaining about the quality of the house cleaning while he sits on his rear end moving a mouse helter skelter doesn't help the situation.
