Yeah, I don't understand how the getting of a FIDE rating works myself. I actually have a FIDE ID, with like 50 FIDE games recognized, but there is no rating listed. I thought I did qualify last tournament I played, because I played 3 FIDE rated players, scoring 1.5 in total against those three, but, I guess that's not good enough
. But then my usual TD says that I do in fact have one. Maybe there is a hidden rating I have, but it just doesn't get revealed until I meet some requirement, because again, it does recognize that I have FIDE rated games.
Update: It looks like, in comparison to the last time I checked, I do get credit for that tournament, but apparently I still have more to do, as I am still listed as unrated. Perhaps you have to get three "FIDE Player" norms?
My record vs masters is better than my record vs experts. [I think when you play strong players you tend to try harder? This is true for me--is it true for other players?]
One of the strangest aspects of my career record:
against 2300s: 5+ 5- 1=
against 2200s: 2+ 10- 8=
(And the first master I ever played was a 2300--DeFirmian--so it's not like it's simply a matter of me being a better player when I played all those 2300s.)
