I still don't even know what the OP's 3rd move is.

Is he trying to say 3.Nc3?

No idea pure guessing game at this point.

Even if white plays 3.Nc3  responding with 3...Ne7 as black makes no sense?

How do you plan to develop the dark bishop?

I think white already has justification.

Black is putting the knight on g on the e7 square instead of f6 for no reason at all. Furthermore, black is also blocking the dark bishop once the knight goes to e7.

White can just play Be2 and smile.

How do I post a game that involves you watch by pressing the play button and I'll show you.

But I'm sorry, if you're 1300+ (whatever) there is no excuse to at least know some basic...methods of posting games on Chess.com.

I'm sorry, you've been a member for FOUR years and haven't even played a game here. At least I contribute. You sad weirdo of a guy who lurks on forums who doesn't even play chess here after 4 years!

You didn't wish me good luck with making eight years. Maybe you just forgot. That's OK.

I, too, get tired from the attacking f7/f2 theme.

Assuming that your question was directed at me, I guess I'm conversing with you at the moment. I'd have thought that you would have known that.

@amiton542 If you are using a modern browser - for game insertions and so on I prefer FireFox because Chrome does strange things with the game posting - in the text box where one places ones breathless prose there is a tool bar with some icons.  The first one, if you hover over it will offer a tool tip that states, "Insert position or game."  Clicking on that will invoke the board editor and one then follows the prompts in order to input ones game or position.  If one examines the interface with reasonable care then the posting of ones desired game should naturally follow from there.

yeah i am sick and tired of seeing those "chess openings that you will never even see in OTB chess". I'm pretty sure those that play 2.Bc4 against Sicilians are actually masters toying with our mind, trying to frustrate us in live blitz. It is also humiliating to lose to such a rediculous opening too. I've looked for ways to counter against the Bc4, but couldn't find any good resources. Hence, I've made a switch to play 1...e5 against e4. They can play their 2.Bc4 crap as much as they want but all they are doing is going into mainstream opening (bishops opening, vienna game, Italian, etc). So I'd say, keep it simple, hold the centre and try and outplay them that way - we should be glad they chose an inferior move compared to main lines.

One thing thats annoying is those that move all their pawns on to 3rd rank. There should be a way to punish those.

Magnus Carlsen doesn't care about openings...

Avatar of X_PLAYER_J_X

I already showed you how you can handle 2.Bc4 against the Sicilian.

Its not even that hard of a method.

Avatar of csalami

This 2. Bc4 is a common stuff here. Not a very good move, but it is playable, the position is equal, you have to play chess. Below 2000 chess openings don't really matter, you can play good moves based on the opening principles.

Some people play this game for fun, because it is a game, and don't care about openings that much. There is nothing wrong with that.

Avatar of pfren

One of the "bunch of noobs" that play 2.Bc4 on a regular basis is GM Zlatko Cicak. A lucky noob at that: He mostly wins... Tongue Out

Just try finding him at an open tournament, and apply your anti-Bc4 theories against him. You will soon find out they are totally useless...

2.Bc4 is just a move to end all theoretical discussion, and play chess- nothing more, and nothing less than that.

I wouldn't call it much of a conversation. more like an invitation to be abused. such blatant hostility voids any contribution the op might be making to this thread.

Are you annoyed that players dont know the moves of a mainline variation that you have researched and where you know all the plans? That seems like a pretty reasonable approach to play against you.

An opponent making weak moves in the opening should make you happy because it means you can refute it and claim an advantage. If you cannot then that says a lot about the importance of opening theory for weaker players.

Avatar of Murgen

Opponents under no obligation to play the moves we want them to.
