Plenty of cheaters...

...are getting caught lately with the new process announced by Chess.com. I'm receiving lately plenty of emails from Chess.com reading "We have detected that one of your recent opponents..." blah, blah, and they restore me some rating points. Plenty of them. Almost every other day. Unbelievable.

On the one hand I'm tremendously happy that this has helped the community get rid of cheaters, but on the other hand I feel it's extremely sad that so many people open an account here with the sole purpose of beating others with the help of the machine, that is the machine beats the opponents. What do these people get out of this? Is that their idea of learning chess? Having an account full of fake victories if then when they sit across someone on the board they know nothing?

That reminds me of a young guy I saw once on TV, and when asked what he wanted to become in the future he replied: famous. That's it - these individuals just seek a bit of fake self-esteem here by doing so. The saddest thing is that in reality it is themselves that they're cheating.

This was just a thought out loud. I had to get if off my chess.

Chess.com almost certainly doesn't care! As I stated in this thread:
