Why don't you post the precise positions to the Endgame Study forum?
I'm guessing Chessmaster is not giving you random theoretical positions, but rather practical ones that are easy to wins with some thought.
Most endgame books cover this material. These aren't easy enough to deal with in just a short article on the internet.

There are actually information on the internet:
Rook vs Knight:

That is the first link from this Google search:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Rook+vs+Knight&btnG=Google+Search
Queen vs Rook:

I'm having a lot of trouble with these challenges on Chessmaster (King and Queen vs. King and Rook, King and Rook vs. King and Knight), and can't seem to find any decent sites which explain how to win these. Do you guys know of any good sites or articles on these?
