Does it take a million keystokes to fix it? I'm sure there is vacation time, holidays, sick days, and of course passing the buck that boggs this whole process down. I have to have an open mind I guess.
Spell Check

I have noticed this too. I wonder when the staff are going to fix it because it used to really help me!

Don't you Anglo people learn your own language at school ? What about us : the foreigners from the rest of the world ? Probably the spellcheck was meant for us , but the illiterate mass in America was not accounted for and puts a strain on the programmers.
Look at the comment above mine :

The staff is one entity , so you can not use the plural !

And of course you are qualified to speak for the rest world.
It's mainly the Americans that make fun of spelling-errors made by foreigners.

Here we go again . Not even this one-liner is correct. Rest world ?

A handful of morons do that, however that's not whats dragging the system down.

Wrong again : A handful of morons do that, however that's not what's dragging the system down.
Ik begrijp nu waarom de hele natie zit te springen om een spelling-corrector ...

I now understand why the nation is desperate for a spelling corrector ...
It's also great for typing errors too pal. When have you been right on this thread; that is a big assumption on your part.

"Staff are" is preferable usage. eg: http://www.agriculture.purdue.edu/agcomm/ontarget/0712/Grammer_traps.htm
"If the collective noun (staff) is acting as a single unit, use the singular verb: 'The staff is very efficient.'
If the collective noun is meant to highlight the actions of discrete individuals who are all doing different things, use the plural verb: “The staff are working on many projects for the holiday party.'"
You have to be careful with collective nouns. "Staff is" would also be acceptable, but it sounds stilted. Atomic_rift's word choice was more natural, the way people talk. That kind of natural word choice is one of the most difficult things for ESL students to grasp so the mistake is no wonder. I'd be a jerk to point this out or your incorrect use of spaces before punctuation if you hadn't already taken it upon yourself to try to correct native speakers.

@tmkroll:
Thanks for pointing out MY mistakes. I'm always open for improvements on my use of the English language. Normally I don't care about street-talk , it being more realistic and lively , but I had to stick to the subject of this thread.
PS: 'The staff is very efficient.'
An unfortunate example in this case
I started this thread about 2 months ago after weeks of it not wrking. It's supposed to get fixd by chess.com but nothing yet.
