Teaching an Adult

I'm looking for advice on how to teach an adult to play the game - but not from the ground up.

The person in question knows how to play the game, and excels at tactics puzzles.  But she has never played a game that wasn't with me or a family member, and I haven't been able to convince her to dive in and just give it a try.  Instead, she asked me to teach her, but it's not clear to me what she wants or what I should do to help her.  I think that she's a bit overwhelmed by the complexity of the game - particularly, but not exclusively, in the opening.

She has played games against the computer, and her games, like other beginners, are filled with blunders and counter-blunders, but she does seem to have good instincts (especially attacking ones), even if she isn't yet taking the time to calculate her moves.

So I'm looking to figure out what topics to cover - and how to cover them - so that she feels comfortable playing on her own.  At the moment, I'm leaning towards copiloting her in a game against a computer where we focus on identifying forcing moves  - but then, I've been reading danheisman's new book 'Is It Safe?', so I worry my focus is a bit myopic.

Would appreciate any thoughts you all have. :)

Does she play here? That way she will learn with experience
