Whining, you're living up to your name...lol. I will play out and I never stop trying. I will lose and that's fine. If that's unsportsmanlike to not quit, so be it. I was actually giving him the satisfaction of putting me away, but he chose to abuse it and it got him. I wasn't posting to cry about it. I loved it.
This guy showboated a little too much. This is why I never resign.

Don't get me wrong. I actually agree with you on vacation abuse.
Wow, nice one - I let out a small chuckle when I saw the stalemate. I've messed up a stalemate once or twice in rapid, but this is hilarious.

what we need is ........ tadaaaaa!!!!! the ability to actually checkmate yourself! called a SELFMATE!
White to play and self-mate, no matter how much Black tries to avoid winning.

Your opponent wasn't "showboating," he was trying to humiliate you as much as possible. What a jerk!
In a USCF Tournament I directed, a 1200 player tried to humiliate an unrated newbie by seeing how many Queens he could get before delivering checkmate. When, like here, he stalemated his opponent, his face turned green! Good for him, too!

Yeah, he was trying to make the point that you should resign a clearly lost game and screwed up. He should have put you away fast and clean instead of fooling around. Not particularly mature behavior from either of you IMHO.
He was rated 732 ffs. If you're 732, you should never resign, as you can always learn from the experience.

he only wanted to humilliate him in order to show him that he should have resigned a long time ago, which is absolutely correct. the fact that he got lucky with a stalemate doesn't change that at all

in fact, you could learn much much more by playing another game instead of shuffling your king for 20 moves

i accidently stalemated a guy while lining up a bunch of queens on his back rank. it was then i realized i was patzer status lol.

Genius! Failed to find it. If I knew how awesome it is, would had tried more time and wouldn't spoil it by using the hints . If u have anything as good as this, please post.

Thanks. I didn't invent it, of course.
The following one is more of a humorous curiosity than a puzzle:

nice one too. According to chess.com analysis, black is winning.

I guess the chess.com analysis engine isn't buying White's "Your Pawn never reached d5 to block my check" argument.

At this point I'd like to suggest a chess variant based on the new piece I would introduce:
'The Showboat' - The Showboat can appear on the board when prior to pawn promotion the superior side has a lead of 15 points or more. Its function is to nullify any stalemate possibilities, and it looks good too! I will be selling the Showboat for $100 but if you are a little hard up, you can use the battleship from your Monopoly set.

Not true. Any grandmaster will tell you that it's very important for beginners to play out there game. Many players from my chess club are unable to win even up 15+ material points. In this case, it is very important for them to understand the technique used to finish off the game.

I'm sorry? Did I say anything about the stalemate?
What's that? No
Then don't bring it up
You only refute an argument I never made because you know the one I did make is too strong for you to refute.
I don't know what you guys are having a go at the OP for. ALWAYS PLAY TILL MATE, is what a lot of coaches even tell their students. He has every right to play on for as long as he pleases.
I agree that it might be useful for beginners to play til the end. It was perfectly fine for him to play til the end. I only critisize the way he deals with it.
