Thread Resurrections

Too often I see a thread appear, after thinking it had died, with someone commenting "lol" or "yeah" at the bottom - months after the last post.

How do they find these threads? How do they miss that the conversation is over and all the dates are from ages ago?

and you feel duped when you read through it and finally notice that it is 6 months old.  although, someone did this to one of my threads a few days ago after i made a snarky comment to a post.  funny thing was, no one had answered it the first time around, but the second it got a few hits.

oh, and i'm making mental note to find this and LOL it in three months.

I predict that this thread will be resurrected every 3 months.

hope you are not counting on my mental note.  my mind is not what it is supposed to be.

No worries, people will keep digging it up.

Hmmm... I wonder what would happen if I made a thread called "Threads that no one posts in"

bumping-old-threads aka thread-bumping (or simply bumping) needs to be hit on the head.

That's funny, somehow artfizz's comment appears below my first one.  Maybe I got confused somehow and just imagined he posted first...

Nope, I saw it there too.

Terrible assessment.  Old threads are sometimes revived with brilliant ideas available.

Yeah, but not sure LOL really counts.
Avatar of bomtrown

you can search for threads. there is a "search the forums" box at upper right of screen.

I wouldn't bother follow old threads, very nerve-wracking to find them back, but i rather go with the flow and move on to the next tread, wishing if its better thread.Cool

I wonder how long lived this thread will turn out to be Smile

Is this a common "problem"?

hilariously ironic.  of course, i am giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you had this planned for two weeks.  well done.
