In this game, my opponent (playing white), felt he could fling material away and my king would just fall into a mating net. Well, not only did his "mating net" not work, I completely rebounded his attack upon him. This is the consequence of vacuous sacrifices that are based upon false assumptions.

interesting game, but your opponent was obviously not too strong a player.  next time, post the games that you lose, not the ones you win.  You can not learn from showing everyone how badly you beat someone rated (presumably) 300 pts below you.
