Vladimir Kramnik's Hypocrisy

For those who don't know what fiasco I'm talking about, former world champion Vladimir Kramnik accused GM Hikaru Nakamura of cheating.

  • Kramnik says he wants an open conversation on cheating, which is why he deletes all my comments in his blogs on the matter that oppose him.
  • Kramnnik says he only deletes comments on his blog because they contain "misinformation", "misleading statistics", or "vulgarities". I'm pretty sure none of this is present in any of the posts screenshotted below.
  • Kramnik attacks misleading statistics and data and data analysis of amateurs. Yet he himself is an amateur in that field and is using misleading statistics in order to make it look like Hikaru's winstreak is near impossible because it's unlikely to occur individually out of a set of games, but is likely to happen over the course of many games. And, the "amateur" math he deletes is often from professionals.

This sucks. The feature that lets you delete comments in your blogs isn't meant to be used to form an echochamber. but because mods can't look at most blogs and it's your job to curate ridiculously offensive or curse word strung comments.

Yet that isn't the case here, and Kramnik is removing the primary medium of disagreement to him merely because he dislikes his view being opposed and refuses to admit it.

I linked it above and I will give it here again: MY BLOG is the one place he can't touch and I won't delete comments that argue in any direction so long as they aren't actually vulgar or obscene, unlike what Kramnik deletes.

But most importantly, thanks for listening to my rant and Chess.Com please put a stop to it. It felt like a huge burden having very few know how we're constantly censored - and to what extent we're censored - in Kramnik's blogs.

Yikes. Glad to get this all of my chest lol. happy.png

I understand it can be frustrating to have your messages deleted, though I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Most of the chess community seems to have written Kramnik off as the "crazy old uncle", at this point - someone who you are better off ignoring.

I have no interest in looking at his blog, as I'm sure it's full of rambling, self-entitled nonsense - and I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking this.

Are you using a photograph of him as your avatar?

Interestingly enough, he hasn't blocked me but just deletes almost all of my posts. I don't think he knows the block feature exists lol.

What outcome are you trying to achieve?

I like Vlads idea of getting rid of casting to deal with all the opening memorization stuff, make everyone play on their own without a radical change like Fischer Random.

However, this new thing with drawing attention to Nakas performance rating makes me side with Ian & his response. He wasn't jumping on Vlads bandwagon, he was saying that Nakas situation ain't the right situation to point out while inferring cheating.

Ah geez... Vladimir Kramnik has completely lost it now. Making accusations with no proof, oppressively censoring his community threads, and completely relies on insults, specifically related to intellect, to back up his words and discredit what people are saying. RIP great chess player, Vladimir Kramnik.

Guys, it's very simple. He wants to go back to OTB and prank Hikaru. He misses the good old days when he could slam vodka bottles while mating Topalov.

He deleted over 60 comments in a few minutes, and then locked the thread when we started quoting and using our clipboards to copy and paste deleted posts. I actually sent an email to gothamchess about the insanity going on with that vlog lol

Here are some other of the deleted comments:

With this forum or my comments on Kramnik's blogs? Or both I guess?

Let's use this thread as an archive to post screenshots of all the comments he deletes. I couldn't get that python code statistics screenshot in time, whoever made that awesome post, feel free to post it here.

if our opinions meant anything to Kramnik he would take us seriously, but face it, we cant even comprehend the level of cheating hes talking about here, though Blundermura most likely did cheat at some point.

Good morning,

I don't have much to say. Just in a few words to tell you about Mr Gauthier Guillod who was kind enough to grant me a loan of €65,000 without complications. I leave this comment as a sign of gratitude to Mr Guillod;

He can be reached by email:

Ps: be precise and succinct when making your request, thank you

What do you need the load for? My friends Sal and Fat Tony also grant loans with no 'complications'.
