I think Tom Poston died first, 8 or 9 months before Suzanne Pleshette. But I agree, it's interesting that they ended up together. Poston and Bob Newhart had a long relationship, both professionally and as friends, that spanned decades. But I don't know that Newhart and Pleshette stayed much in contact after their show, so Poston and Pleshette may have just reconnected a couple decades later.
EDIT: Poston, in addition to the handyman in Newhart's later show, also played the occasional character "the peeper", Bob Hartley's college friend in the original Bob Newhart show in the 70s.

Let's not forget the Fishman(Fisher Stevens) dating Michelle Pfeiffer in the 1980's. They never married but that was a surprise. He was great in "Early Edition".
