What is the most useless piece in chess?

The f pawn. I mean he served a purpose, but he is always getting the other pieces in trouble and he can't really do too much on his own.

I think it depends on the position. If the position is very tight, then it's probably the bishop. If the position is very open, then it'll be the knight.
All pieces are useful, but it depends on the position.
I would say the king. Its only purpose is to survive until the endgame where he can do some checkmates.

All have a purpose. I can't really say which is the most useless because of their varying qualities which make each one unique and therefore hard to compare. Each excels at what it does best. If you are talking about value, the pawn is considered the most expendable

Based on an in-depth study involving every game I've every played...I am the most useless, by far.
🤣

Queen, because it's vulnerable to attack all the time.
Even more so with the King.
That's a good point
The pawn. Probably the b and g pawns
You castle
the bishop and queen goes to the squares the would be protected if your pawn is not gone
the rook slides in and you lose
Everything has a purpose
abcfgh pawn protect the king and pawn storms
de pawn gets the centre
Knights jump around and annoy the opponent
Bishop snipes
rook sleeps in opening, wakeup in middle game and go berserk in endgame
queen is just a chaotic multi purpose piece
kings show as a great defence piece in the endgame while also leading the army(technically true because without it the army surrenders) and can also attack in the opening(BoNgClOuD oVeRpOwErEd)
forget about the last part lol
I've heard rooks as the most useless, since they cant be moved at all in the beginning or are only useful for mate
