Why do I suck at blitz and bullet so much more than Rapid?

Hello, I'm 1800 Rapid (for now, and no I don't mean im going to improve, I'm probably gonna tilt!), but only 1200 Blitz and 1300 bullet. There's a 500-600 rating point difference... and somehow I'm still getting absolutely clapped by some of these players. Maybe playing 2+1 and 5+5 will help cuz its closer to rapid? Plz help me I don't wanna be 1200 blitz forever  

You have less time to think and because of this your more likely to make mistakes.

The time control doesn't matter so much. I reached 1500 with 3 + 0, 5 + 0 and 3 + 2. I think premoves get pretty important. Maybe you check the first video on Chessbrah's Bullet Habit series on settings.

With 1300 in bullet then 1400 in blitz should be good. Usually the 3 + 0 pool does more calculation errors, the 3 + 2 does middle game errors and the 5 + 0 does more endgame errors. Maybe move quickly in 3 + 0 and do one calculation in critical situation. https://chessgoals.com/rating-comparison/

I have the same problem- 600-800 rating difference from rapid to blitz and bullet.

I think it’s because we’re used to playing rapid speed, while others play more blitz and arr more used to playing that fast. If they played the same amount of rapid and blitz as us, than post #3 would make sense, but if they played more blitz (likely because you’re facing them in a blitz match) then they would be more used to the speed.

what is strange to me is that your daily rating is so lower than your rapid rating. It seams that you are best in 10 minute games. Strange

@markommbrzi Daily 1300-1600 is pretty standard rapid 1600-2200. It is totally different pools and cannot be compared. A daily game could take months for eight rating gain so the if you want to only play 10 games at the same time then the rating gain is just 80 per month at maximum.

maybe if you are good at rapid you should play increment or play of bullet or blitz to be better at it

Playing too slowly in 3 min or 5 min you'll lose on time

Interesting For me rapid and blitz are around 900, but my bullet rating is over 1300. Interestingly enough, my daily rating is around 1700.

@Artyom_Georgiev Maybe you are overrated just now as your recent history shows. I think I never lost to a 900 on my old account which had 1800 as daily rating.
