But actually he is lying about her being his, and just wants a one night stand with her, so she just gets spinned around his little finger for one evening. Pun intended? Idk, but thats a player. Poor beta women, swallow on the bait. But thats ok, she got something out of it at the end too. Thank gawd those are not puns.

1. Why does chess attract so many beta males?
   I just thought about this for the first time and it took approx three seconds to come up with the answer. Supposedly, beta males are the second string types, which means they are not "persons of action". So their natural inclination, in order to succeed in life, is to become adviser or adjutant to the person of action. And that requires an ability to plan and wait for one's chance. So the person of action goes out and manages a football team and the beta type sits quietly and plays games, sublimating his aggressive instincts that way.

Top level chess is full of virgins these days. Back in my day, we had players like Kasparov who was 8 feet tall and breathed fire.

Coffee reminds me of my ex-brother-in-law in that the both appear to equate masculinity with risk-taking. I never understood why he thought his, or anybody else's, view of masculinity would be important to me. To me, that would be the pinnacle of beta-ness.

I gave coffee a hard time but I must admit that is a practical answer.  as for the manliness or not of chess.  in and of itself, it strikes me as a sport for real sissies and eggheads (I am the eggman). 

but then you may want to ask yourself whether the acquisition of material goods, power, prowess in football or ping pong, accumulation of wealth equate to anything superior to a sense of well being and the richness on life that comes from the I-thou relationship with life described by Martin Buber for example.
