Why Resign?

#13, I have a few times. But that is only when I really have to go do something and it can't wait a few minutes.

The knock on the door is the worst :/

sree64

Yeah, i agree.

You shouldn't resign a match for just losing two pawns. You should resign when you are a rook down or queen down or when you have a forced checkmate against you.

sree64

?

sree64

It doesn't.

What do you mean?

It's nonsense.

Stop it.

when i think I have no more chance i resign.  I do not play awaiting a mistake from my opponent. No satisfaction (because I had already lost)

Brings to mind that old sentiment - the loser in chess is not the first to blunder, but the last

sree64 when you resign you have played to the end of the game. The end of the game is called RESIGNATION. Often it is the best possible move, so you rarely make the best possible move to play in games

No, your opponent could still win, but you might learn something. Like an endgame or what you could better next time

I agree with spockorm.

Checkmate is the end not resignation.
