what does it mean when the time/game says 15|10

Avatar of Aschar

You have 15 minutes in your "time bank" which lasts the whole game, and every turn you add 10 seconds to the "bank"

When you run out of time, you lose

It is when you start the game with fifteen minutes on your clock and ten seconds are added to it after every move you make.

What is the purpose of bonus seconds? How does it improve the game?

Avatar of CoenJones

back when there was only the set time for the game, many high level matches were ruined by people who may have 10 seconds to make 10 moves. So, to avoid this, with the increment there is no way that you have less than that amount of time to make the move. The recent WCC I think used 120 for 40, 30 for 20, and 30|30 for the rest, am I irght??

at the end, time is again added, how do we track how much time is added at the end, it is more than 10 seconds?
