It is just loading. Don't click anything before the pieces arrive, you could accidentally ruin the game.

vsry

try a different internet browser;it worked for me...

LokiMundane

Try using mozilla's firefox, it is recommended by the developer.

I minimize and maximize the window.  click on the minimize button at the top left and reopen.  It should get the piece back if you have this problem during play.

dc1985

Bottom of the page, click "Report Bugs" and fill out the report.

1.  change browser to chrome/mozilla

2. close all applications that download data from internet

just clear your browser cache :) (control+R when you are on a game page)

I tried everything (except reporting the problem), but it still doesn't work!

I often have the same problem. It usually fixes itself in a couple of hours. restarting your computer will sometimes fix it right away.

I had exactly the same problem with free account - the flash ads were ruining my browsers and taking very long time to load - sometimes my comments did not get posted, and my moves were not properly submitted - changing beowser fixed the problem initially, but after some time it was the same story. I was forced to upgrade to premium although I am on a tight budget - I have become so addicted to chess!

Try clearing your browser cache every day and see if that helps...

BillyIdle

My problems are similar to the ones dsarkar talks about.  Switching browsers did not help me, but clearing (cache memory) the temporary internet files and cookies does help somewhat.  Sometimes my moves and comments are not submited, but it happens less frequently now.  At one point it was a terrible ordeal.  The Chess.com administrators did their best to be helpful.  it is free, so I shouldn't complain.

Google now has a new browser we can download.  Has anyone had experience with that they can share?  I don't want to lose my many bookmarks by changing browsers.

Have you try and taken the pieces out of the box and set them up on the board ?
