Interesting to see in this game, each move by one player takes 10 days......the game has been lost for ages, weeks and weeks! The tournament has been delayed by two years by one player.....yes, two years since the rest of the tournament games in this round ended..... Yet the same player posted here about good sportsmanship.... Brian, please play fair and remember you own frustration years back when you posted this forum. http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=66895246

One other rule that defines a game is the maximum time allowed for a move and when that is agreed at 72 hours, one may safely assume that that will not be exceeded but in the case of one player who I will not name, that assumption turns out to be incorrect. Taking into account the various holidays and the fact that this particular opponent rarely moves in less than 69 hours, I have been playing the same game for what seems like an eternity. Do get a move on please!!

3 days per move is exactly that as you say - and vacations are also part of the system too as often emphasised by Chess.com. Those who do not want to play at this leisurely allowed pace have a simple answer - play only rapid or bullet games

I have just played a guy  - ****** - . We had a drawn position between us and I offered same, but he declined. The position was repeated umpteen times as the notation will show, but the system did not allow for and result this as a draw by repetition.

The result came down to whose button operated the clock quicker and in that it became frenetic and my mouse slipped.  The beauty of the game of chess was spoiled for me by a piece of outrageously bad sportsmanship.

Is there not a method of review after a game ?  Should there be as he should be deprived of the win !!

He loses one noodle in chess Karma. That means he is that much further away from a bowl of delicious pasta.

Think of him, sad, hungry, eyeballing that delicious steaming bowl of pasta, which you are enjoying. You will not let him have even one bite, no, because why? Because he did not respect the beauty of your Chess.

It's perfectly legitimate.  Whether it's sporting is subjective.  But time management is a BIG element of Bullet, to put it mildly.

I meet a lot of people who are mad at ME when they blunder away a won position in Bullet.  Their thinking is that if they'd had the same position in G/30, they'd have won it.  Yeah, they probably would have.  But they'd never have gotten that position in G/30 in the first place.  They got it because I had made Bullet blunders of my own earlier, but there was nothing unfair about those to their thinking.

That would make an interesting variant, though.  You get 1 minute for the first 40 moves, and then a half hour for the rest of the game.

Wow, nearly 10 years since I posted the above comment. Maybe with age I have chilled a little and care much less these days.
I just look at chess.com on my phone these days and if it’s my move I look at it, beyond that I don’t assess how long it’s taken. It’s just a bit of fun and relaxation so never going to get uptight about it these day 😎

Good to hear @Taxi.  It is important to play the game in a chilled manner, every move should be shaken not stirred

I never worry about my rating. It is already known I am terrible. The rating will just confirm the reality.

you have no basis to complain about others

you are the king of vacation abuse .. you play 270 people at the same time and are constantly pausing or going on vacation .. I have complained to the admins about you .. they need to change the server rules to stop such bad behaviour as yours

Read the date of this @EarlyMorningRain and understand the sense - this was about live chess on here, the rules of which have been changed and applied accordingly. Now read about the policy on vacation abuse as applies to daily chess - and you will see that I am within and in accord with that policy ! Now also read my explanation and apology for recent lengthy absences. I can never know what your life is like, but in mine family emergencies come much higher than satisfying people like you in a game of chess, who seemingly have no capacity for sympathy or empathy.
