Whenever I go to pass and play on my iPhone, the h file doesn’t appear as white and the a file doesn’t appear as black. This happens in real games to, is there any way I can fix this?

What device are you using this app on? Could be a compatibility issue. Maybe try updating the device and/or Chess.com app.

I’m playing on an iPhone 12 mini and the issue has been there since i downloaded the app, but I’ll try updating it.

Maybe it is an issue with the app thinking it is full-size iPhone 12, not accounting for the smaller screen. If updating does not fix the issue, consider submitting a bug report including the image your shared here.

It's a known problem. Until a fix is implemented, try putting the iPhone screen in standard mode (instead of zoomed mode).

On the iPhone:

Open the Settings app.
Select Display & Brightness.
Change the View setting to Standard.

Usually the workaround works.

I don't know what else to suggest other than deleting the app and reinstall.

What is your iOS version?
