Post order

Is there any way to set the order of forum posts so that the most recent message is on top and it goes down in descending order after that?  It's annoying to have to scroll to the bottom in long threads when you've already read the previous posts.

It kind of takes the insanity and fun out of it. Seriously, that's a good idea.

Sort optionality would be nice here so that users could set it up the way they prefered in their preferences.

Another sort issue that's a bit of a pet peeve of mine is that when viewing the topics within a forum category they sort with the topic that's been posted in most recently at the top.  My preference would actually be to have the sort order by driven by the date on the first post as opposed to the last -- again, another place where the optionality would be nice.

I fourth the OP's suggestion. It's cleaner to have the latest posts at the top, so that you don't have to wait for the page to automatically scroll down, or rather jump down suddenly. A sort option would be best.

The inconsistency between blogs and forum posts is curious - see forum-sequencing.

but you'd have to close your eyes while scrolling or you would see the answers to the puzzle before you see the puzzle.  and it is hard to close your eyes and find the puzzles.
