It is your fault
Why chess.com servers are so bad ?

I have already tried restarting the internet and I still disconnect plus it is chess.com who has to get more servers and it is NOT my fault anymore it is his now.
Once all games are on the new RCN servers, you should see an improvement but the site can not solve all lag issues.

It is really bad; I have lost so many matches because of the server. It doesn't seem to happen to GM's when their playing Titled Tuesday. Never happens when I'm on lichess at all. Why pay $251 Australian dollars only for a big chunk of your games to be disconnected and your elo to go down the plug hole, this issue is very frustrating.

I got disconnected yesterday and lost by abandonment.
That almost never happens to me.
Turned out my Ethernet cable was loose.

On the other hand, last december it turned out that there is a huge bug that causes frequent disconnects for mobile users. Has it been fixed already? Does it still exist? Nobody knows. Chess.com staff was (and is) completely silent about the bug, it only became public because Martin shared what he knew.

I thought this topic was about chess.com's website and game servers, not mobile app bugs.
If there was some major app bug outed in December, I don't remember seeing it. Link?

Obviously there is no link. There is no trace of it at all except one Martin_Stahl post somewhere in the forums. You should ask him, probably.

Do you guys feel that Chess.com's pre-move is no longer useful? If so, I agree. Pre-move no longer benefits players, especially in bullet chess. Time keeps running even when a pre-move is played, and sometimes, it continues to run even during the opponent's turn. This is unfair, and Chess.com has been disappointing its users lately, especially after the news about server overload. Instead of struggling with outdated and overloaded servers, they should just upgrade them.

What you're describing is a disconnect from the live server process.
The vast majority of games are being played on a distributed set of servers so the issue isn't a server overload.

I looked but couldn't find it. If it is a major problem for app users, they don't seem to be posting about it.

I don't recall the specifics of that but it would have been quickly resolved and not still happening.

Too many people joined around 2020-2023, and use the site at the same time, I believe. They need to pour many more millions into it, but they possibly don't have the money? Running such servers is very difficult and costly. Even just running a functional site of any sort for endless millions of users is painful and costly. Chess dot com really wasn't made for that. It was made for the levels it saw in the 2010s -- nowhere near what we see today.
It reached 100 million users in 2022?
