Cant abort games anymore

Its maybe because I aborted too many and I am sorry but when will I get it back? How can I earn it back?
To ease the frustration until the button returns, see here http://support.chess.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/171/0/fair-play-policy for "Tips to Avoid Aborting Games!"
Perhaps you will miss the lost Abort button less.

This rule was another stupid "innovation" by this site.
Before if someone took more than a few seconds to move i just aborted. Now i have to hang around for however long it is until the abort thing runs out.
I wish people would think about the unintentional consequences when they make changes.

In this case, I'm sure it is an intentional consequence. Don't worry, you can still resign if your opponent really dares to think a while.

They're not thinking though, they're just not moving or not bothering with the game. Before i would have aborted as soon as that became clear and simply played someone else. Now i have to wait for ages so i don't be seen to be aborting games.

Isn't it twenty seconds?
I abort because I picked too long of a game.. or I just dont feel like playing.. I dont wanna resign because I like my std chess rating

I see. I have to apologize, I obviously misunderstood your posting.

Why are you picking a game that is to long then?
For me, sometimes I accidentally click on two games at once, or I mean to select an unrated game because I am at work, and I accidentally pick a rated one. I have good reasons to abort, IMO.

20 seconds is not ages...
In the context of the situation it is.
It's 15 seconds too long let's say.

I still have that option (as I nearly never abort under normal circumstances) - but there have been cases where I just -have to- (either explicitely or by not moving).
I have a bad connection. On numerous occasions it happens that I click for a new game, my previous opponent offers a rematch in the meantime, I accept - and while the system is trying to establish the connection for the rematch - my original seek gets accepted - so I end up being presented with two games - and I usually play bullet chess (1min, no increment). Obviously, it is physically impossible for me to play both opponents... and this had happened many many times.
But each time I did abort I got a warning from the system that the option might be suspended for me... why? because the chess.com system is not good at handling bad connection issues?
