I've never been effected by the disconnect thing, It's never happened to me once and I've played everyday for about 200 games - almost a year. It would be a bit of a downer to lose an important game though.
why loose games when disconected

I also lost this way. Well, part of life. A power outage, or a sudden important telephone call can also cause a loss (especially in 1 to 3-min games).
Try to win as many games as possible for every disconnection loss to regain lost points & make more. Also, if you see ur connection indicator (that rectangle near ur name) colored yellow or red, don't play. Wait for it to become green (excellent or good connection). Chess.com guys have done a gr8 job to minimize this problem.

I have only experienced disconnecting once - in a won position :-(

Will someone please fix the spelling error in the title?! ^^
I spot two spelling mistakes and two other grammatical errors (there may be more). I'm an amateur pedant, it's my burden. I do understand, however, that we are not all equally gifted/cursed by this condition. It is just a well-meant observation. No offence should be taken by any parties, as none was intended.
it is hurting to see when oppotent time is over, but u disconnected lose the game. i hate this.i found myself always at recieving end. it is worse

You should be able to resume your game when you reconnect before your time runs out. I used to play alot on Yahoo Chess before I came here and if your browser freezes, so you have as long as your timer has left on it to return to your game. If you are gone for more than 10 minutes, then you automatically lose.

My connection and computer are stable. I used Chrome firefox 3 BUT no use. I am not living in the USA and that is the problem. Africa and Asia are the victims of live chess. It is so unfair. We love and appreciate online chess. I complained a month ago and still Erik is working on it!!!!???? People said it is your choice to play or not. Yes - but online chess is honest, sincere and one expects the same from live chess. Live chess should not be part of the online chess program until they sorted out their problems.

I can't really complain because this hasnt happened to me, it does note before you join live chess that it is unstable. Sorry if I sound arrogant but the only thing that upsets me (but it cant you'll see why) is for the amount of paying members and ads there should be enough money deligated to fix this problem ie new servers or paying or new javascript. So yes, If i were a paying member I would be upset but this website is truly awesome for us non consumers as well :D
Paying member recieve no additional features for Live Chess. So I'm not sure why they should be upset. Live Chess is still in beta, that means that it is still actively being developed. We are not just sitting around hoping that Live Chess will get better on it's own. Making Live Chess better is our top priority right now, and we are putting all available resources into this. Hopefully, there will be some big upgrades very soon!
