Puzzles needed for tactics trainer

I think they'll cut off about the first 5 moves if the keep it...it is really cool, a nice use of pins and checks to avoid a promotion, or having to sacrifice material to win.

Starting with the computer moving 30...f5.  The moves then go:

30...f5 31.Nc4 Bc7 32.Nxb6

and the puzzle concludes.  The move Nxb6 may be ambiguous, (best move +4.16, second best move +1.29), so you might want to remove a few pawns.

Starting with the computer moving 41...Qf7, until the end.

There is a forced mate in 6.  The second best move is +4 or so, but eliminating White's queenside pawns fixes this and makes the second move 0.00.

The computer should play white's 30.Bf4, and the moves continue until the end of the game.

OK, I'm pretty darn sure I altered this problem enough to force you to find the winning line after white blunder.

I've seen problems on TT that are one move long.

Thankyou Ponageman100, for the167th puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=182532  (material altered to allow black to play 2…Qe6! without ambiguity on subsequent moves)

and for the 168th puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=438501 for which you receive a big well done :

for submitting a perfect diagram #562 starting with the computer move, whose FEN and movelist could be pasted directly into tactics trainer unaltered.

pumpupthevolume247, nice puzzle but unfortunately too ambiguous for tactics trainer (see first post for guidelines)

Thankyou vmay1072, 169th puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=94503  . pawn moved from g2 to g3 to prevent Bxf4 at the end of the puzzle.

bobes, unfortunately the puzzle is ambiguous with 47..Nh3 (mate in 2) and 47…Rg3+ (mate in 3). The variation offering mate in 2 or 4 moves is still ambiguous according to the guidelines for this thread (first post). If modifying a puzzle please see the advice in the guidelines.

Metaknight 1.Re1 Nfe4! is why the 151st puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=435861 needs to start later

Thankyou Ponagemon100, 152nd puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=326285

Thankyou blaow, for a nice 153rd puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=232845  .  I’ve chosen the strongest moves for the computer. The next puzzle can’t be used as it is only one move.

ClavierCavalier, Houdini v Fischer…

StrategicPlay, unfortunately the puzzle is ambiguous as after 1…Bh8 either 2.Ra8+ +6 or 2.Bh6 +5. I couldn’t find an easy way to remove this ambiguity.

Spieler999, feel free to make the g2 alteration you suggest and post a new diagram, but  please check the lines with a computer according to the criteria in my first post.

Powerlevel_9001, unfortunately it becomes ambiguous before becoming conclusive after 6…Nc7 7.Qd8 (+3.13) or 7.Qxf7 (+1.51). Even without this ambiguity, this may be another example of a problem being too difficult for tactics trainer.

Please try to start your diagrams with the computer’s first move.

Thankyou PortlandPatzer. The problem becomes ambiguous with either Kg5-f6 or Kg5-g6 being winning. Starting the puzzle at this point gives the 154th puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server?id=374663  . It may be present in tactics trainer already but this shouldn’t matter unless it is at a similar rating.

@Katonas:

TY for the inclusion such as it is. I will attempt to locate the full Scossi's Mating position JIC I erred in its setup.

Also a Q: There is an exercise that involves near and distant opposition, triangulation, outflanking and Zugwang to infiltrate squares f8, g8 or h8 with only Kings on the board within 17 moves w/ the White King on a1 and the Black King on g7. Would this be suitable for TT or is this more novelty than anything?

Heres three checkmate puzzles. They have been checked with Rybka.

These are from my own games, but the first one (being bullet) I didn't find the winning combination in the game (though I did win). The second game I played on Yahoo so I don't have the FEN, and the third I played on chess.com and lost (but not sure who it was vs and its too hard to find the game again).

I think the puzzle I had given wasn't approved by sir katonas. :D

Hello,

I encountered the situation below a few weeks ago in an over the board game. Although I got the steps right and then blew my advantage, I did think that this would make a good tactics trainer puzzle. I'm not sure about the initial move from black to get to this position, but I believe that everything else is correct.

I already post this one one my previous post, but you forgot it (no problem), I removed a couple of pieces to make it longer :

See first post : "The puzzles must come from your own games, sidelines or variations to reduce the chance of duplication..."

This is a beautiful online chess game with a deep continuation.

very nice, seems like you do a fork and take the queen but it is actually better than that
