@ Ozzie Cobblepot
Qxg4! CLASSIC but obvious.
I gave up after a while (nearly 27 minutes) on ozzie's puzzle, and plugged it into houdini: there's only a draw though, but maybe I did not go deep enough, sometimes a depth of 18 half moves is poor. Does it begin with Bxf5!! exf5 Qd2! ?
It begins with 1. d4.
The position can be edited between moves 5 and 8 to remove ambiguity and length if need be and evaluation should still be good.
texasaboy, there is a faster mate beginning with:
1. Qe7# mate in 1, therefore making it ambiguous.
Plus, white is clearly winning.

Yes, remember people that "puzzle" is not the same thing as "try to guess the moves I make in this position". Usually each move in a puzzle, and especially the first move, is a so-called "only move".

If 1. Qe7# is the winning move, why would this be considered ambiguous?
Letting your king get into the mate threat seems a little off, but even if the king moves to the 3rd rank the rook will be able to take the passed pawn. Maybe 2. Kg3?

Black would capture the bishop with check and then move to the a file.
This seems to make just as much sense since white will lose the bishop and pawns any ways. Because there are several way for white to lose this, I'd bet that, if they were still taking puzzles, they'd just accept black's wonderful first move.

I quote myself "...even if the king moves to the third rank the rook will be able to take the passed pawn."
What I meant by Kg3 is that it seems more natural to shy away from walking into their mate trap, even though RxB+ still wins the pawn.
