A tad chilly

The forum title is most appropriate this week.  Like everywhere else, the cool period continues here.  It's not cool enough to qualify as "cold", but it's certainly chilly.  In the past few days the temp hasn't gone more than a few degrees below zero F, but it hasn't gone more than a few degrees above zero F either.  So far this afternoon it's up to  (-3) F at 1:00 p.m.

The normal daily high here for this date is 30 F .   The most recent day above 30 was 7 days ago, and the 10-day forecast doesn't indicate any upcoming days expected to reach 30  (of course, by 10 days from now the "normal" high will have decreased to 26 F)

Hey, bigpoison, did you steal goldendog's santa cap?  That one you're wearing looks an awful lot like the one he's worn in previous years.

I think everyone stole oinquarki's.

Could be.  Dogs will swipe anything if they think you're not looking.

That might explain it -- there's a good chance bigpoison found it buried somehwere.

Don't blame me!

I think prawny made 'em for everyone. I'm still looking for mine this year...somewhere on a disk.

Er, sorry goldendog, I should have chosen my words more carefully.  By fixed I mean corrected.  Not, uh, the other thing.

Nails!

@'dog.  I couldnt' find the one prawny made me a few years ago.  He made me a new and improved version.

It takes him about 12 seconds to do the work.

As you can see I wear mine all the time.  But it's a little dirty.

I think I understand the cartoon now.

I'm in England. Our news showed lots of snow in some parts of America. Really deep in some places. Lets hope it doesn't last too long. A day of snow can be fun but then it gets on your nerves. Good luck. :)

I'm in Colorado and it's warming up, but on last Thursday and Friday it was so cold (Got to -25 Fahmericanheit) that school was closed and you couldn't stay outside for more than about 20 minutes.

Some belated greetings I see I haven't acknowledged yet:

  • Hi bigpoison!
  • Hi trysts!
  • Hi Cabadenwurt!
  • Hi pdela!
  • Hi AndyC!

It's made it all the way to +7.4 F this afternoon.  I'm back to using just my fleece hoodie again instead of the insulated coat I had to drag out for the past few days.

We've had a combination of snow and rain that has led to an awful slippery slush on the ground. I guess we should be grateful that it's warm enough to rain though.
