F them! I've never been medicated. First thing I'll try will be Viagra.

Accountant David Harding spent nearly £2,000 trying to kick his sausage habit – without success.

The dad-of-three, of Greenwich, South East London, devours up to 13 bangers every day.

The bizarre habit cost him £700 a year and eventually drove him to seek counselling.

He said: “I genuinely cannot bear the thought of living without sausages.

“Drug addicts crave their medicine of choice, and it’s the same for me except that my drug is a banger.”

NHS blog...

Is this really an addiction? Hmmm....

Dr Brooke Magnanti claimed back in 2012 in the quarterly journal of experimental psychology, that young men 20-25 were prone to Viagra addiction... My lecturer once said something to this effect, 'she only recently left the prostitution business she has some credibility in regards to the statistics" lool its a fact, she was a red-district mistress.

I find it hard to believe some of these "addictions"? Like I don't believe sex, gambling, or porn addicts in the same way people become chemically addicted to something, you know?

Pulpofeira

What I find odd is young people getting addicted to Viagra.

Well depends on how we define addiction, it is inclusive of physical and chemical (likened to biological) addictions as well as mental addictions.

The NHS often brand 'love addiction' as any sexual activity that feels out of control, so only the individual can best determine whether their urges or rather frequency is affecting their day to day living from a normal functioning .

I was taught when the 'love addixtion" causes low self-esteem and lack of self-identity, and their addiction results in obsessive, controlling behaviour, it is classed as an addiction.

But its up for debate... Just because it is written in a book don't make it a fact :)

more and more men are prescribed 'v' to treat their erectile problems... (check ONS)

more people are therefore prone to becoming dependant and at times even addicted to the drug...

you can check the BNF sildenafil is year upon year dispensed more increasinly. though I am doubtful over whether it is classed as an addiction... dependency and 'urge' are completely different, though however if its being used for every 'encounter' without much consideration, there may be lies the 'addiction'.

from a medical point of view, i would have to say there would have to be a physiological tolerance of viagra, thus maybe causing the person to progressively 'use more pills more frequently'. ???

** or any national formulatory, USP or JP

Probably both reasons are involved. At first I suppose you try something you really don't need to feel absolutely sure of not "failing". Many young people feel pressure and urge due to the stereotypes of our society. Necessities are created, and then solutions are selled.

It can happen to adults to as I'm sure you;re aware of*

Though with a hypersexualised range of tv broadcasters/magazines/youtubers and modern music unable to sell without a strong sexual image and message, can we really expect anything different? It can't be helping the anxiety possibly felt before a performance.

This isn't high on the list of great concerns though it seems

Pulpofeira

Agree. But still wondering, how is I have a big ego?
