I wonder if the OP got any good torrents...
Anyone got a demonoid invite?

Was Imesh before that. People would burn CD's. Good stuff.
Oh yeah, sometime around Direct Connect and Napster (I think?)
Yeah 2000's ish.
I get Imesh and Limewire confused. People used to make CD's. It was a really good way of sharing music. Bands like Deftones, KMFDM, Pantera went around my school like that.
Didn't harm the bands either, since it was more like promotion. It was difficult to get entire albums, if I remember right.

With Piratebay, you can just download a person's entire discography. That's when things do start becoming unethical (I've done it anyway though ngl).
But you couldn't do that with the earlier stuff. You had to download each track, and the singles would be easier to get hold of anyway.

Think the last time I bought music was Kraftwerk. My computer died just as I was getting in to them.
Cost me £18 for a CD with about 8 songs on it. So they are taking the piss badly these days anyway.

Lol I know.
Just isn't the thing.
Go and look at the prices next time you're going past a record store. £18 is mental.

Someone put me on to Spotify really on, and it was absolutely great.
You had to put up with a couple of adverts. It would be the same 2 adverts: one of them was for being a guinea pig testing out pharmaceutical drugs lol.
Then they changed it to only being able to use it an hour a day or some nonsense. I just sort of forgot about it.
Now they are doing well enough that they want to buy Arsenal football club. Think the bid was 2 billion or something like that. Owner is apparently Swedish and grew up supporting them.

I probably should give it another go. But, like you say, it's not really necessary.
Works much better when it was like a radio imo.
Hey everyone.
Don't know where else to ask.
If you have a spare invite to the best torrent site (demonoid, obviously) send it to my chess.com email.
Cheers!!!
