I'm not sure how legit this is.....its the 1st I hear of it..surprise.png  Can it be that simple?  Pepto Bismal..?shock.png                               https://www.yahoo.com/gma/popular-heartburn-medicine-being-studied-treatment-coronavirus-024500582.html

Yeah, Pepcid AC is the next miracle drug to step into the limelight.  Next, Vick's Vapo Rub?  Wait and see is my take on any existing drug that is being pushed forth.  Any number of pharma companies or any single one of their employees can decide to "leak" rumors that their product helps the situation somehow, and for some drugs there's some basic rationalizations that make it technically possible it could do *something*...it's easy money, and the malfeasance is not easily traceable.

It's kind of fitting for an analogy, because without the shelter in place restrictions the estimated toll was more like WWII numbers.

Speaking of "malfeasance".... There's a guy on You Tube....i.e. Alex Jones.....who's making life miserable for a woman claiming....with no proof....that she is patient zero..... meaning the 1st one to infect millions.  https://www.rawstory.com/2020/04/online-conspiracy-theorists-blame-us-army-reservist-for-coronavirus-outbreak/

55,000 in two months. If we open the country up now, considering we never really shut it down, the numbers will keep going up and up. It's common sense, which these protesters don't seem to have. Those who want to pretend this is just a bad flu will be the ones keeping this going and ending up killing more and more people and very likely themselves.

An American cyclist who broke her rib and an Italian DJ with a hit single are responsible for purposefully causing the outbreak? wink.png

Occam's Razor.  Wuhan was "open" for the games, so why would you have to fabricate some deep cover-up with 2 wildly different backgrounds that take years to establish individually with such improbable players when you could just send in a team who are posing as press or spectators with a week or two of work and do the same thing?  Geezus.

If this came out in a movie it would be roundly panned for implausibility...conspiracy theorists in general are not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier...

That's why I think it's a good analogy...now you can say to naysayers that if we end the shelter in place, we risk going from a Vietnam to a WWII level of casualties.

Perhaps injecting 70% alcohol while patient is in an unconsciousness state would get rid of the virus.

Yeah, I mean why drink 2 bottles of Jack Daniels and slowly raise your BAC to alcohol poisoning levels and collapse into unconsciousness when you could just *start* unconscious and get the alcohol poisoning going much faster by direct injection?  Skip the middleman. wink.png

I think you (and Trump) need to get over the notion that anything that kills the virus outside the body is a good candidate for using on human beings.

"In other news, napalm was used today to sterilize a mass grave of infected bodies that was too large to sterilize with conventional methods..."

"Hey, maybe we could inject napalm into people's lungs...it kills the virus and it could theoretically work..."

The order of treatment may give the different result.

And the poisoning Alcohol could be neutralized before the patient become conscious.

It almost sounds like you think that alcohol poisoning only affects conscious people wink.png...

I think every drugs will affecting all the body, but the germ/viruses as the small part/portion of living organism will be killed earlier than the body itself. Save the body right after all the disease have gone.

So, if you fill a human being up with 70% alcohol, little microbes will die from the treatment because they are little, and human beings will survive because they are big?  Aren't human beings themselves just a crapload of cells and microbes inside skin sacks with some sticks to hold them together, though?  You'll have to educate me wink.png.

These States that are opening....people are jumping at "fools gold" and here's what I mean.  When you actually get the virus....symtoms don't show for about 2 weeks. So check the 2nd week in May to see if those states have spikes in cases.    On another note.....I went to grab my coffee yesterday and forgot I had my mask on......that didn't go so well.frustrated.png

I can relate very well with the coffee story. Things like that happen to remind us we are human and subject to errors. It helps in keeping us humble besides getting a chance for a little humor.
